I agree with you that the book is very interesting, not only because of Moller's "presumed" conversion to Islam, but also because of his ardous attempt to prove that Islam is best understood through cultures as well as revelation. He flips the direction of the relation between Islam and culture, from vertical into horizontal one. Both Islam and culture are not in contradiction. Salam. Sunarwoto, Leiden University. I agree with you that the book is very interesting, not only because of Moller’s “presumed” conversion to Islam, but also because of his ardous attempt to prove that Islam is best understood through cultures as well as revelation. He flips the direction of the relation between Islam and culture, from vertical into horizontal one. Both Islam and culture are not in contradiction.
